Ontario says products such as Crown Royal will continue to be sold through the LCBO, while new spending will support farmers, manufacturers and communities provincewide

An $11-million investment tied to Ontario’s new agreement with Diageo is being welcomed as a major boost for Johnstown and the Township of Edwardsburgh/Cardinal.

Leeds–Grenville MPP Steve Clark said the funding will support local production and strengthen the regional economy. The money will be used to purchase grain neutral spirits made by Greenfield Global in Johnstown.

The investment is part of a broader provincial deal that will see nearly $23 million spent across Ontario to protect jobs and reinforce local supply chains. The agreement follows months of talks after concerns about Diageo’s Amherstburg facility.

Premier Doug Ford said the province secured investments that would not otherwise have happened.
