Beyond manufacturing, 3M Canada is deeply involved in community initiatives such as the 3M Harvest Lunch Program, which supports United Way chapters across the province
As Ontario celebrates Manufacturing Month, 3M Canada is highlighting the essential role of the sector in driving innovation, employment, and community support.
Based in London, Ontario, 3M Canada employs about 350 people at its Brockville plant, producing products like masking tape, N95 respirators, and cartridges used to protect against contaminants.
Beyond manufacturing, 3M Canada is deeply involved in community initiatives such as the 3M Harvest Lunch Program, which supports United Way chapters across the province.
This year’s event provided 4,000 meals to residents in Brockville, St. Thomas, and London while raising funds for local programs.
Rich Muir, Plant Director at the Brockville facility, said the volunteer-driven event keeps employees connected to the community.
Muir noted that the ongoing trade war hasn’t had a major impact on operations.
He added that while rising costs have been managed so far, they will unfortunately have to be passed on to consumers.
Muir said manufacturing offers many rewarding career opportunities.
He encouraged anyone considering the field to get involved.
3M also operates plants in Havelock, Perth, Toronto, and Morden.
