The Honourable Nina Tangri
The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville Small Business office hosted the Honourable Nina Tangri, Ontario’s Associate Minister of Small Business, for a visit with Summer Company students yesterday (Aug. 20).
The informal gathering included MPP Steve Clark, Warden Corinna Smith-Gatcke, Economic Development Manager Ann Weir, and Small Business staff member Brennan Eland.
Students shared their experiences starting and running businesses over the summer, highlighting the program’s role in building confidence, skills, and community connections.
Participants included local entrepreneurs such as Carter Leduc, Owen Henderson, James Richardson, and Lincoln BevAcqua, who offer services ranging from property care and car detailing to lawn maintenance and streetwear.
The program provides youth with grants, training, and mentorship to develop business skills while supporting the local economy.
It is funded by the Province of Ontario and the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville.
