He is now facing three criminal charges
A 37-year-old man from Prescott is facing impaired and dangerous driving charges after rolling his vehicle on Highway 416 just before 1 a.m. on Sunday (July 27).
Ottawa OPP officers responded to the crash and suspected the driver had been drinking. Police say he registered more than twice the legal alcohol limit on a roadside screening device.
The man was not injured in the single-vehicle collision.
He is now facing three criminal charges: Operation While Impaired by Alcohol and Drugs, Operation While Impaired with a Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80, and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
As a result of the charges, the man received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension. His vehicle was also impounded for seven days.
Ottawa OPP are reminding drivers that impaired driving is dangerous and illegal. Anyone who sees a suspected impaired driver is urged to call 911 immediately.
