October 1st to 31st
The Town of Prescott is warning residents to expect temporary changes in their tap water this October as crews conduct essential watermain and hydrant flushing.
The work will run daily from October 1 to October 31 between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Town officials say the routine maintenance is necessary to improve the overall quality of Prescott’s drinking water.
During the flushing process, residents may notice temporary discoloration in their water. The town says this is normal and does not pose any health risks. Anyone experiencing discolored water is advised to run household taps until the water clears.
The town says the annual program not only helps maintain water quality but also ensures fire hydrants remain in good working condition.
For questions about the flushing schedule, residents can contact the Town of Prescott Operations Department at 613-925-2812 ext. 6219.
