The city of Brockville is opening its outdoor rink in Rotary Park today, giving residents a chance to enjoy winter skating. City staff are still finishing preparations on the ice pad, but the rink will officially open Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 9 a.m. and remain open daily until 10 p.m.
Public skating is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon and 4 to 6 p.m. Shinny hockey, a safe form of pick-up hockey with no contact or slap shots, runs from noon to 4 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m. The ice surface is conditioned and flooded each morning between 7 and 9 a.m.
