She is now being held for bail
On July 7, Toronto police tried to stop a stolen vehicle near James Street West and Victoria Avenue around noon. The driver did not stop and tried to escape. For safety, police did not chase but saw the car enter a quiet area behind Tim Horton’s on William Street.
When officers arrived, the car was abandoned, and the suspects ran away on foot. Police caught and arrested a 40-year-old woman after a foot chase. No other suspects were found.
The woman is on two probation orders. She was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and two counts of failing to follow probation rules. She is now being held for bail.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
