Arrests occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday
Two people were arrested in separate overnight impaired driving incidents earlier this week, Brockville police said.
On Tuesday around 1 a.m., officers running a RIDE program on Stewart Boulevard stopped a 73-year-old man. They suspected alcohol use and a roadside breath test showed a fail. He was arrested and taken to the station, where tests confirmed he was over the legal limit.
His vehicle was impounded and his licence was suspended. He faces charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal blood alcohol limit and was released with a court date.
Just over 24 hours later, around 3 a.m. Wednesday, officers spotted a vehicle backing out of a fenced parking lot on Perth Street. A 29-year-old woman showed signs of drug use and failed a field sobriety test.
Police found Xanax and LSD in her possession. She was charged with drug-impaired driving and drug possession.
