OPP are reminding residents to lock their vehicles at all times, especially when parked outdoors
Grenville OPP are warning residents in Prescott, Augusta Township and Edwardsburgh-Cardinal after a series of thefts from unlocked vehicles reported over the past month.
Police say the incidents happened between early December 2025 and Jan. 7, mostly during overnight hours. Vehicles were parked outside or in residential driveways in rural Augusta Township, the hamlet of Johnstown and several areas of Prescott.
Investigators believe suspects targeted unlocked vehicles, stealing items left inside. No injuries were reported, and police have not released details on suspects.
OPP are reminding residents to lock their vehicles at all times, especially when parked outdoors. Officers also recommend removing valuables or keeping them out of sight to reduce the risk of theft.
Residents who notice suspicious activity or who have surveillance or dash camera footage are asked to contact Grenville OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
