Part of a growing effort to boost local trade
A fresh wave of opportunity swept through the Lansdowne Community Building on Thursday (May 1), as local food and beverage sellers connected with buyers from across Leeds and Grenville.
Part of a growing effort to boost local trade, the event let restaurants and retailers discover everything from craft brews to farm-fresh goods—all made in the region.
Organized by the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville, the showcase aimed to build stronger food business networks. Economic Development Manager Ann Weir said the goal is to “support local and grow local,” helping sellers expand into new markets.
Sellers like Sean Lucey of Bridgeview Dockside Restaurant praised the event’s energy, while buyers like Jeff Day from Hotel Kenney were excited by the quality and variety.
Officials say this event is just the beginning, with bigger trade shows possibly ahead for local businesses ready to scale up.
