The Friends of Mac Johnson Wildlife Area will host their annual Family Day Winter Festival on Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mac Johnson Wildlife Area.

The event is open to the public and admission is by donation.

Organizer Gwen Gibson outlined several activities planned for children throughout the day.

She said the main attraction will be the return of the Mush LaRose dog sled teams.

The dog sled races are scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A campfire will be burning during the same hours, allowing families to roast marshmallows. A canteen will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., serving chili, hot dogs, sausages and drinks.

Parking will be available on site.
