The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville say a seasonal warming centre in Brockville will close April 30, as planned, marking the end of winter operations.
Officials say the site offered a safe, overnight space for people experiencing homelessness and included intensive case management to address barriers to housing.
Warden Corinna Smith-Gatcke said council is encouraged by progress and ongoing collaboration across the region.
Outreach teams, working with the Leeds Grenville Paramedic Service SUMMIT team, continue weekly visits to encampments, offering basic needs, medical care and referrals.
Officials say encampment numbers have dropped from more than 80 people to about 27 as of March 2026.
The counties also report a decline in their by-name list of people experiencing homelessness, from 165 in October 2025 to 113 today.
They say efforts will continue with housing-focused supports and community partnerships.
