Augusta Township Councillor Hendrik Pape has launched his re-election campaign, promising better internet access, responsible growth and more transparency at township hall.
Pape announced his campaign Wednesday and highlighted projects completed during his first term on council He said fibre broadband construction is underway and about 90 per cent of homes are expected to be connected by the end of 2026
He also pointed to the hiring of a communications co-ordinator, expanded digital outreach and council meeting highlights aimed at improving communication with residents
Pape said his next campaign will focus on five priorities, including reliable cellular service, infrastructure planning, economic development and tourism growth
He also pledged to continue lobbying the province for a new school in Augusta Township and said he wants residents to remain informed and engaged as the community grows. He said he will spend the coming months meeting residents and hearing concerns about future township development.
