Township officials thanked the association for its ongoing commitment to firefighters
Augusta Fire Rescue has received new battery-powered cut saws after a donation from the Augusta Firefighters Association earlier this week.
Valued at about $8,398, the Milwaukee K12 saws are designed to cut steel, concrete and other materials found in vehicles, homes and fences.
The township says the new tools replace older gas-powered cut-off saws, improving efficiency and firefighter safety during emergency response operations. The existing gas-powered units remain in working condition and will be reassigned to the Public Works Department for continued use.
Over the past decade, the association has contributed more than $400,000 in equipment to Augusta Fire Rescue.
Township officials thanked the association for its ongoing commitment to firefighters, noting the investment helps modernize equipment and improve emergency response capabilities across the rural Ontario community and enhance public safety efforts going forward.
