Proud to recognize our Canadian neighbours
For the first time ever, Boldt Castle on Heart Island will be lit up in red on the evening of Tuesday, July 1, to mark Canada Day. The Thousand Islands Bridge Authority (TIBA) is leading the celebration, which aligns with a broader New York State effort to honour Canada’s founding in 1867.
The illumination is a symbol of cross-border friendship. “We’re proud to recognize our Canadian neighbours and visitors,” said TIBA Deputy Executive Director Bill Moulton.
TIBA owns and operates Boldt Castle and the Thousand Islands Bridge, linking Alexandria Bay, N.Y., and Lansdowne, Ont. Since acquiring the property in 1977, the Authority has invested over $60 million in restoration.
Boldt Castle is open daily from Mother’s Day weekend to Columbus Day. It remains one of the Thousand Islands’ most popular attractions.
