Police in Brockville are investigating after a reported bomb threat and possible weapons at Thousand Islands Secondary School today (May 5).
Officers were called shortly before 11 a.m. and the school was placed into lockdown for safety. The lockdown lasted about one hour while police attended and secured the building.
A search of the school was completed and police confirmed there was no immediate threat. The lockdown was then lifted and students and staff were allowed to return safely. Investigators with the Brockville Police Service continue to look into the incident. Police are asking anyone with information to contact 613-342-0127 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
Officials remind the public that all tips can help support the ongoing investigation and are treated confidentially by investigators. Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity near the school at the time is encouraged to come forward as soon as possible.
