BrockvilleDaily has reached out to Braves ownership for comment
The Brockville Braves have announced a new chapter in their history as part of the ownership of the junior hockey club transitions from Hani Greiss and Gratiela Dima to Kris Hodgins.
The team thanked the outgoing owners for their dedication, commitment, and support to the Brockville hockey community and said their efforts helped maintain the club’s strong tradition.
Hodgins, a former league player, competed with the Kanata Lazers, Smiths Falls Bears, and Nepean Raiders before playing at the collegiate level. He said hockey has been a huge part of his life and the league helped shape him as a player and person. He added it is an honour to become owner of a respected organization with strong community support and a proud tradition of excellence.
The new ownership group said it will focus on player development, community partnerships, and maintaining a winning culture in Brockville going forward. Local fans welcomed the change in ownership and future plans ahead.
However, this announcement has not been well received by everyone. An online statement addressed restrictions on Brockville Braves training access at 4Life Fitness amid the ownership change.
Owner Zach Benson cited community safety considerations and ongoing concerns about player development within local junior hockey discussions in Brockville.
