The Brockville Braves will play their upcoming first-round Central Canada Hockey League playoff home games against the Smiths Falls Bears at the Brockville Youth Arena due to ongoing roof renovations at the Brockville Memorial Centre.
The Youth Arena is much smaller than the Memorial Centre’s standard 200-foot by 85-foot ice surface. Whit Prophet, a Brockville and Area Sports Hall of Fame inductee, notes the Braves last played at the Youth Arena in 2006 or 2007 during an exhibition against the Syracuse Stars.
Home game dates are Sunday, March 22, Thursday, March 26, and Sunday, March 29, if necessary, with all games starting at 7 p.m. Fans are advised the smaller venue may affect seating and sightlines, but the Braves are encouraging supporters to come out and cheer on the team in the opening round of the playoffs.
