Brockville may use a developer’s $770,000 deposit to fix unfinished work in the Brockwoods subdivision after residents complained of poor construction.
Len Meilleur (May-yer), a homeowner, told city council on June 3 that his new home had over 60 issues, including cracked foundations, faulty plumbing, and damaged siding. He said the repair process has hurt his health.
Meilleur reported the problems to Tarion, Ontario’s home warranty program, and the Home Construction Regulatory Authority (HCRA), which issued a warning to the builder.
Reid’s Heritage Homes, the builder named, says it is not responsible for the issues Meilleur listed. The company claims all repairs were approved by Meilleur in November.
