Gananoque Police remind the public that fleeing law enforcement is a serious offence and urge drivers to comply with traffic stops to ensure safety for all road users and officers alike
In the early hours of January 4, Gananoque Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle, but the driver fled. Officers disengaged the pursuit due to unsafe road conditions. An investigation was launched, and the driver was later identified.
On March 5, a neighbouring police agency located and arrested the 40-year-old driver from Brockville. The individual was transported to the Gananoque Police station and charged with Failure to Comply with a Release Order. The driver was released on an undertaking with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
