Brockville Police Service laid charges against three men following two separate impaired driving investigations and an intimate partner violence case over the past several days.
Police said the first impaired driving arrest happened on June 18 at about 3:30 p.m. after officers saw a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign near William Street and James Street West. The 40-year-old driver allegedly tried to walk away after stopping. Officers determined he had been drinking, and further testing confirmed he was operating a vehicle while impaired and with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit. Police also discovered his license was already suspended.
A second impaired driving arrest occurred on June 19 after police received reports of a man drinking beer while driving away from a convenience store. Officers later located the 38-year-old driver at a residence on Wildwood Crescent. Testing confirmed he was impaired and over the legal alcohol limit.
In a separate investigation, police arrested a 25-year-old man on Sunday (June 21) following allegations of intimate partner violence involving a woman and her 18-month-old child. Investigators allege both victims suffered assaults, including one involving a metal chair leg. The accused faces multiple charges and was held for a bail hearing.
