The Brockville Police Service responded to more than 407 calls for service over the past week, including assaults, crashes, thefts and storm-related incidents following Canada Day.
Police said officers handled nine assault complaints, 18 motor vehicle collisions, multiple theft investigations, mental health calls and requests for help involving dangerous situations caused by the Canada Day storm.
One of the incidents occurred on July 2 at about 11 a.m., when officers responded to several reports of a disturbance involving a 54-year-old woman on King Street.
Police said callers reported the woman was yelling and screaming. One caller told police she was on the patio at Finnegan's Pub waving a broom in a way that caused concern and was striking objects with it.
Witnesses told officers the woman had left before police arrived. Patrol officers later located her at Hardy Park.
She was arrested without incident and held for a bail hearing. Police charged her with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and causing a disturbance.
