Students organized bake sales, collected about 250 essential items, and raised money to help the local shelter continue its services
Leeds & Grenville Interval House is thanking students and staff at Brockville Collegiate Institute for a community fundraiser that supported women and children affected by violence and abuse.
The effort came from Brockville Collegiate Institute’s Recreation Leadership class, led by student Sarah Ball, as part of a culminating school project.
Students organized bake sales, collected about 250 essential items, and raised money to help the local shelter continue its services.
Organizers say every donation, whether items or funds, will support safety, comfort and hope for survivors in the community.
The organization says youth leadership and compassion shown in the fundraiser reflect strong community support for ending gender-based violence.
Leeds & Grenville Interval House thanked the school community for standing with survivors and helping provide essential support through the fundraiser.
Officials say the fundraiser highlights the impact of local youth initiatives in supporting community services across the region.
