Staff say financial pressures are affecting workers and services alike
More than 110 workers represented by OPSEU/SEFPO Local 441 at the Brockville Area Community Living Association have filed for conciliation after ongoing contract talks.
The union and agency have been negotiating a renewal agreement for two months. The organization provides supportive housing and community services for adults with developmental disabilities in Brockville and the surrounding area.
This marks the third bargaining unit in the region to file for conciliation in recent days, signalling growing labour tensions in the sector.
The move is largely tied to concerns over provincial funding, with workers pointing to the 2026 Ontario budget released March 26 as offering little support for developmental services.
Staff say financial pressures are affecting workers and services alike.
An all-day strike mandate vote is set for April 14 as part of the Worth Fighting For campaign, with workers joining others across community and social services.
