An 18-year-old Brockville man is facing several charges after a series of thefts and an alleged robbery in the city’s north end on Feb. 19.
Police say the suspect was first arrested around 11:30 a.m. in connection with multiple thefts at north-end retailers. He was trespassed and charged under the Trespass to Property Act. About two hours later, officers responded to another theft in progress and arrested the same man for theft under $5,000. A search found more stolen items, linking him to another recent incident.
At about 5:50 p.m., officers were called to Mrs. B’s Variety after a reported robbery. Police allege the man entered disguised, demanded money and later brandished a knife taken from the store. The clerk suffered minor injuries.
The suspect was later found hiding inside a unit on King Street. He remains in custody pending bail.
