Despite earlier construction delays, major completion is expected later this year
Sherwood Park Manor says the City of Brockville has completed its $500,000 capital pledge for the long-term care home’s redevelopment project, marking a major milestone in the effort to modernize care for local seniors.
The non-profit home announced Tuesday that the city’s one-time contribution will help advance construction and community fundraising efforts tied to the project. The redevelopment is aimed at creating a safer, more accessible and technologically advanced facility for residents.
Board chair Ken Durand Sr. said the completed pledge is a “transformative moment” for the home and reflects Brockville’s commitment to supporting seniors. Mayor Matt Wren said the city was proud to fulfill its promise and support a project that will help preserve Sherwood Park Manor’s legacy of care.
The redevelopment includes upgraded resident rooms, improved infection control measures, expanded community spaces and new safety and energy-efficient systems. Despite earlier construction delays, major completion is expected later this year.
