Officials add the ban applies to all properties and will remain in place until conditions improve
The North Grenville Fire Service has issued a total burn ban across the municipality due to current conditions that increase the risk of fire. All open air burning is prohibited until further notice, including burn barrels, brush fires, campfires and agricultural burns.
Officials say the ban is intended to prevent uncontrolled fires and protect residents, property and emergency responders. Dry weather and changing conditions have raised concern about how quickly fires could spread.
Residents are asked to avoid any outdoor burning and to properly dispose of smoking materials. They are also urged to report any signs of smoke or fire right away. In an emergency, residents should call 911.
The fire service thanks the public for its cooperation and says updates will be provided as conditions change. Officials add the ban applies to all properties and will remain in place until conditions improve.
