The Lyn Grading Station plays an important role in Burnbrae Farms' egg processing operations in eastern Ontario
Burnbrae Farms is setting the record straight after speculation on Facebook sparked rumours about a possible expansion in Lyn.
The company says recent activity is tied to improvements already underway at its Lyn Grading Station, not a larger expansion project. Earlier this year, Burnbrae Farms installed a new grading machine to increase processing capacity and improve operations at the facility.
To support that increased capacity, the company also leased a section of the former Abbott Labs building for additional storage space.
Burnbrae Farms says the lease was needed to accommodate the extra storage requirements created by the upgraded grading equipment. The company made the statement to address misinformation circulating online and clarify the purpose of the lease.
The Lyn Grading Station plays an important role in Burnbrae Farms' egg processing operations in eastern Ontario. Company officials say the recent changes are focused on improving efficiency and supporting existing operations, rather than signalling a broader expansion beyond the grading station improvements already completed.
