Transport Canada has opened a nationwide consultation to better understand how vehicle headlight glare affects road users at night. The survey, open until April 20, asks Canadians over 16 to share their experiences, opinions, and behaviours with vehicle lighting.
Officials say that while new headlight technologies can improve visibility for drivers, they can also cause discomfort or reduced visibility for others. The consultation seeks feedback on how often Canadians travel at night, what safety concerns they face, and which vehicle or lighting features influence their experience.
Participants can take a 15-minute survey or send comments by email to MVS-SA@tc.gc.ca with “Headlight glare” in the subject line. Transport Canada emphasizes that all responses will remain anonymous and aggregated for reporting.
