The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario has approved a balanced 2026-27 budget following a June 16 trustees meeting. The plan projects enrolment growth of 201 pupil places, a four per cent increase, bringing total enrolment to about 14,290 full-time equivalent students.
The budget sets both revenue and operating expenditures at $230 million, with $16.8 million in capital investments. Staffing will rise by 14 full-time equivalent positions, including educational assistants, early childhood educators and literacy and numeracy teachers. Officials said spending was reviewed for efficiencies while supporting Catholic education programs across the region.
The board also recognized students from across Eastern Ontario with Certificates of Appreciation for achievements in academics, athletics and community projects. Honourees included national and international competitors in science, sports and skilled trades.
