The former Woolworth property in Brockville remains empty as another season passes, leaving residents wondering what will happen next.
Brockville Mayor Matt Wren explained where the project currently stands.
There is currently no timeline for when demolition or construction could begin.
Wren said the property remains in the City of Brockville’s name and outlined the next steps in the redevelopment process.
The building has been vacant for more than 20 years. Built in the late 1950s, it once housed a Woolworth’s department store before closing in the early 1990s. Since then, the site has changed hands and seen various proposals, but no active development.
