Ontario Parks says the one-day event is meant to help people connect with nature, which offers big benefits for both physical and mental health.
The agency is encouraging Ontarians to spend time outdoors and enjoy the natural beauty of the province’s parks — whether that means returning to a favourite trail or discovering a new location.
There are more than 300 provincial parks across Ontario, offering everything from hiking and biking to swimming and birdwatching.
While admission fees are waived, Ontario Parks reminds visitors to pack responsibly, respect the environment and follow park rules.
The free admission day is part of an ongoing push to help more people access nature and experience its many health benefits.
