City officials remind property owners that, under the Care and Use of Streets (By-law 024-2022) and the Property Standards (By-law 078-2015), they are responsible for removing hazardous snow and ice, especially where it could fall onto sidewalks, entrances, or other public spaces.
Residents are encouraged to check roofs and overhangs regularly, remove dangerous snow and icicles promptly, and hire qualified professionals when conditions are unsafe.
