The Brockville and Area Sports Hall of Fame has selected five new inductees for 2026, recognizing achievements in basketball, golf, hockey, fastball and community service.
Longtime Thousand Islands Secondary School basketball coach Bob Olson joins golfer Teri deLuis, who has won 17 Brockville Country Club championships. Steve and Ann-Marie Polite of Roebuck were chosen for decades of support for sports in Brockville, Prescott and Roebuck.
Fastball player Jeff Seed was honoured for his success with Team Canada, including a major role in the country’s 2003 Pan-Am Games championship win over the United States. Scott Birnie was also selected after helping Dartmouth win the Canadian Senior AA hockey title in 1987.
The induction ceremony will take place June 12 at the Brockville Legion. The public can attend for free, while banquet tickets cost $30 and are limited to 225. Awards for athletes, teams, coaches and volunteers will also be presented during the annual Kinsmen banquet celebrations.
