The Ontario government says Gananoque will receive $6,455,937 to upgrade its sewage lagoon treatment system and modernize local wastewater infrastructure.
The funding was delivered on behalf of Acting Minister of Infrastructure Todd McCarthy as part of the province’s Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program. Officials say the project will support structural and treatment improvements, help protect the environment and prepare the town for new housing and economic growth.
The announcement is one of three made that day tied to local infrastructure investments. With the latest funding, the province says it has committed more than $91 million to municipalities in the region to repair and replace aging infrastructure.
