Brockville Rowing Club continues to play a central role on the St. Lawrence River
The Brockville Rowing Club will host a boat christening and awards event on Saturday, at its boathouse on the St. Lawrence River.
The eight-person racing shell will be named during the ceremony, which will also recognize rowing excellence and community leadership in Eastern Ontario.
The organization has been part of the city since 1894 and recently marked 130 years of rowing on the river. It offers programs for youth, schools, recreational rowers and high-performance athletes from across the region.
The club is known for developing competitive athletes while staying focused on community access and participation. It draws members from communities between Kingston and Ottawa and is considered a key part of rowing in Eastern Ontario.
