Police continue to remind drivers about the dangers of impaired driving and related criminal charges apply strictly
A 29-year-old man faces multiple charges after a Brockville Police Service officer spotted a vehicle on King Street West in the early morning hours of Wednesday (April 29).
At about 3:00 a.m., the officer recognized the driver as someone wanted on outstanding warrants related to previous intimate partner violence offences. The man was arrested on those warrants.
During the arrest, police say officers noticed signs that the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside breath test was conducted and resulted in a fail.
The driver was taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing, which confirmed he was impaired while operating a motor vehicle. Officers also found open alcohol containers inside the vehicle.
The accused was released with a future court date for failing to attend court on earlier charges and now faces additional impaired driving-related offences.
