Local MPP reveals bold plan that could transform Charleston Lake Provincial Park

The proposed expansion could mark the start of a new era for the park while also helping boost tourism and economic activity in nearby communities

A major change could be coming to Charleston Lake Provincial Park.

On Friday, MPP Steve Clark shared new details about a proposed plan for the well-known park in eastern Ontario.

Considered a local gem, Charleston Lake Provincial Park features more than 2,500 hectares of forests, islands and clear water.

Clark said the site is being proposed as the province’s first Adventure Class Park.

If approved, the new designation would focus on expanding outdoor recreation opportunities while protecting the park’s natural environment.

Clark is encouraging residents and park visitors to learn more about the proposal and share their feedback.

The proposed expansion could mark the start of a new era for the park while also helping boost tourism and economic activity in nearby communities.
