Local officials react to shocking June that claims lives of three Canadian police officers

Noonan reiterates that the officers here in Brockville in particular support each other through peer support groups and continue to carry on in a professional manner

June is being marked a deadly month for Canadian law enforcement with police services in Eastern Ontario and across the country digesting the deaths of the three officers killed in separate incidents in Quebec and Ontario.

Montreal police officer Mohamed Lamine Benredouane, Toronto Const. Marc Pinizzotto and OPP Const. Tarun Bali died while carrying out their duties. Police alleged suspects were responsible in each case and laid murder-related charges.

Brockville Police Chief Mark Noonan says it's a terribly tragic reminder to the entire policing community of the threats they do face on a daily basis.

Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MP Michael Barrett explains how these kinds of attacks can be prevented.

Noonan comments on the rise in extreme responses that police services are seeing in today's society.
