Residents are being reminded to lock their vehicles and remove valuables after Brockville Police reported continued thefts from vehicles across the community.
The service said many of the vehicles targeted by thieves had been left unlocked or had valuable items clearly visible inside.
Police are encouraging drivers to take a few simple steps before leaving their vehicles. They recommend locking all doors, removing or hiding valuables, closing all windows, and taking keys and key fobs when leaving the vehicle.
The service said these simple actions can help reduce the risk of becoming a victim of theft.
Brockville Police added that the goal of the reminder is to reduce thefts from vehicles and encourage everyday crime prevention habits that help keep the community safer.
