Major construction is set to begin this summer on King Street West between Oak Street and Cedar Street. The City of Brockville has hired K. Mulrooney Trucking to replace old water mains, storm sewers, sidewalks, curbs and part of the road surface.
Work starts in the last week of June with excavation beginning on July 2. Traffic on King Street West will be reduced to one lane during construction. Temporary traffic lights will be used to control the flow of vehicles. Cedar Street and Oak Street will be closed where they meet King Street.
The project will move through several stages: concrete work in mid-September, and paving and final touch-ups by the end of September.
Drivers are advised to plan ahead for delays and detours.
