Mallorytown Legion Branch 484 marked its 100th anniversary with a Zone Picnic and open house on Sunday, welcoming Legion members from across the region to celebrate the milestone.
Members from neighbouring branches, including Brockville Legion Branch 96, were invited to attend the event, which featured food, music and fellowship as part of the Royal Canadian Legion's centennial celebrations.
Ontario MPP Steve Clark joined Leeds–Grenville–Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MP Michael Barrett at the celebration to recognize the branch's century of service to veterans and the community.
Clark also highlighted the branch's partnership with Front of Yonge Elementary School in the Upper Canada District School Board, saying it helps pass the importance of remembrance to the next generation.
