A 36-year-old man is facing several charges after police responded to a suspected drug-impaired driving incident in Brockville early Sunday morning.
Around 1 a.m. on November 2, officers were called to the intersection of King Street West and Perth Street after reports of a vehicle parked with its hood up and a man walking around who appeared intoxicated.
Police say they found a 36-year-old man near the vehicle and identified him as the driver. During their conversation, officers believed he was impaired by drugs and conducted a Standard Field Sobriety Test, which he failed.
The man was arrested and taken for further testing by a Drug Recognition Expert. However, police say he became uncooperative and refused to complete the process.
As a result, the man was charged with operation while impaired by drugs, failure or refusal to comply with demand, obstructing a peace officer, and driving with cannabis readily available. He was released with conditions and a future court date.
