Nearly $1.5 Million for Hospital and Healthcare facility upgrades in Leeds-Grenville

The investments are part of Ontario's broader plan to modernize healthcare infrastructure and improve access to care in communities across the province

Hospitals and community healthcare organizations across Leeds-Grenville are receiving nearly $1.5 million from the Ontario government for infrastructure upgrades and repairs.

Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MPP Steve Clark announced the funding, which totals $1,491,526 and will support projects designed to improve patient care and create safer, more efficient working environments for healthcare staff.

Through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund, Brockville General Hospital will receive $705,327, while Kemptville District Hospital will receive $552,421. The funding will be used for infrastructure improvements such as replacing aging roofs, flooring, windows, elevators, HVAC equipment and other essential building systems.

“Our government understands that supporting our local hospitals and healthcare facilities means investing in the infrastructure that’s vital for frontline workers to deliver world-class care to patients,” said MPP Clark. “I’ve been proud to champion healthcare investments across Leeds and Grenville, and I want to thank Minister Jones for continuing to strengthen our local system so patients and their families can access care close to home.”

Additional funding is being provided through the Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund. Rideau Community Health Services will receive $153,410, Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Addictions and Mental Health will receive $48,276, and Country Roads Community Health Centre will receive $32,092.

The provincial government says the funding will help healthcare providers address urgent maintenance needs, improve safety and accessibility, and ensure facilities remain reliable for patients, visitors and staff.

The investments are part of Ontario's broader plan to modernize healthcare infrastructure and improve access to care in communities across the province.
