A brand-new No Frills store is set to open in Brockville on Thursday, bringing discount groceries, expanded product offerings and more to the City of the 1000 Islands.
Owner Sheldon Veenstra said the location follows a new format, making it only the second No Frills store in Canada to operate under the model.
Veenstra said the Brockville store will differ from traditional No Frills locations by offering ready-to-eat meals, fresh baked goods and other convenient food options.
The store will also sell alcohol, including beer and wine. Veenstra also said the facility will operate as a zero-waste location.
Anything not fit for human consumption will be donated to local farms to help feed animals, offset costs and reduce food waste.
When it opens, the Brockville location will become the 200th No Frills store in Ontario. The store is scheduled to open at 7 a.m. on Thursday at 2399 Parkedale Avenue.
