Augusta Fire Rescue has completed the installation of a new backup generator at Station 2 in North Augusta.
The project replaces the station’s aging diesel generator with a new propane-powered unit designed to provide more reliable emergency power during outages.
The department announced the work is now finished and thanked nearby residents, visitors to the ball diamond and the North Augusta Recreation Committee for their patience during the installation.
The upgrade was made possible through funding from the Ontario government and included site preparations by Augusta Public Works, along with the installation of a gravel pad, underground gas line and propane equipment.
