This year’s goal is $160,000 to help 650 children attend summer camp
The Boys and Girls Club is launching its 26th annual May fundraising campaign with a new name honouring a longtime supporter.
Now called the Reg Shadbolt May Campaign, the initiative recognizes a founding member from the 1990s known for championing youth programs. The campaign officially begins May 1 and continues a tradition that has raised more than $1 million for children and youth.
Organizers say demand for subsidies is at record levels, helping more than 1,500 children each year. Rising food and fuel costs are also increasing pressure, as the club provides over 230,000 meals annually and daily transportation services.
BGC South East now serves more than 6,400 youth and has expanded with new education centres in Brockville and Kemptville.
This year’s goal is $160,000 to help 650 children attend summer camp. Donations will support food, education and inclusive programming for families in need.
