The investment is part of a long-term plan to expand hospital capacity and improve access across Ontario
The Ontario government is investing $4,371,000 to support hospital operations and reduce wait times at Brockville General Hospital and Kemptville District Hospital. The funding is part of a $1.1 billion provincial health investment in Budget 2026.
Brockville General Hospital will receive $3,436,500 while Kemptville District Hospital will receive $934,500. This represents funding increases of 3.2 per cent and four per cent respectively.
The money will help keep emergency departments open, support wages and reduce diagnostic and surgical wait times. It also supports hospitals facing inflation pressures and rising demand for care in rural communities.
Steve Clark, MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, and Sylvia Jones highlighted the importance of strengthening local health services.
The government says the investment is part of a long-term plan to expand hospital capacity and improve access across Ontario. It aims to reduce wait times and add hospital beds provincewide.
