Police say two parents are facing serious charges after officers found young children alone in unsafe conditions in a multi-unit home.
Officers were called 6 a.m. April 7, 2026, to Kensington Parkway after a report of a four-year-old found unclothed in a hallway. The caller said the child came from a nearby unit, where a seven-year-old was alone.
Police entered the unit and found both children unsupervised for several hours. The home was described as in poor condition. Children and Family Services attended.
Police later located the parents, who had separated. Investigators allege it was common for the children to be left alone, often in early morning hours while the parents were away. One child was routinely locked in a bedroom, raising safety concerns.
A 34-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were arrested and held for bail hearings. They face charges including abandoning a child, forcible confinement and failing to provide the necessaries of life.
