Anyone wanting to participate with a float is encouraged to arrive at South Grenville District High School at 6 p.m.
The town of Prescott is set to kick off the holiday season with its 72nd Annual Light Up the Night Parade tonight at 7 p.m.
The parade, hosted by the Prescott Fire Department, is a long-standing tradition that brings the community together for fun, festive spirit, and support of local causes.
Chris Veltkamp of the Prescott Fire Department outlined the parade route.
There is no cost or pre-registration required for floats to enter.
Veltkamp encouraged anyone wanting to participate with a float to arrive at South Grenville District High School at 6 p.m.
He also explained that the parade will support a great local cause.
Firefighters from local departments will carry boots along the route for donations. South Grenville District High School students will walk with shopping carts, giving attendees multiple ways to contribute.
The parade will wind through downtown Prescott, promising lights, music, and a chance for residents to celebrate the holiday season together.
Organizers are hoping for good weather and a large turnout of parade-goers.
